Outdoor walks and cycle tourism
From the Locanda there are paths and mountain roads that allow easy walks through meadows and mid-mountain woods, which can also be traveled by bicycle, which wind through the wonderful context of Val Canali. The roads connect to wider routes up to San Martino and the Vanoi Valley.
High mountain and climbing routes
From the Locanda, located at 1200 meters close to the southern slope of the Pale di San Martino, you can quickly reach high altitude paths (such as, for example, the Alta Via n. 2) which allow you to reach the Pale plateau and the main peaks of the group.
In about three hours of walking you can reach Rifugio Pradidali and Rifugio del Velo della Madonna, while a couple of hours are needed to get to Rifugio Treviso.
Also easily accessible are well-known mountaineering routes such as the "Spigolo del Velo" as well as those along the walls of Sass Maor and Cima Canali.
There are several via ferratas on the southern side of the Pale (the “Porton”, “Gusella”, Vani Alti”, ….)
Initiatives in Val Canali
The Park organizes various initiatives at Villa Welsperg ranging from scientific training to healthy dances to mountain concerts.
Visits to Monuments and Villages
In the Primiero valley there are historic villages worth visiting (Siror, Tonadico, Pieve, ...) and among these Mezzano which is among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Worthy of note are the archpriest church of Fiera di Primiero and the adjacent Palazzo delle Miniere which hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions. In the Vanoi Valley there is the Ecomuseum in Canal San Bovo and a museum of the Great War in Caoria.
